Vessel Accommodations and Equipment

The galley is open to the salon so that the chef can be part of whatever is happening in that area. With lots of counter space, the large four burner counter top stove, the full size over stove oven, and the full size Admiral refrigerator make this more of a kitchen than a galley. Endura flooring adds ease of care, and many storage cabinets allow provisioning for extended cruising.

The salon has an "L" shaped couch to starboard, and a separate stairway to the owner's master cabin to port, to allow the owners more privacy. Two rattan chairs add flexibility. The salon of this Long Range Cruiser is the original Hatteras teak. This appeals to the traditional buyer that does not want the teak wood painted over nor the teak covered with wall paper. Aft are double doors for access to the aft deck. Unusual in a yacht of this size is a day head for guests and crew to use without going below. The television is connected to a Sony Satellite receiver with a KVH satellite dome.

The aft deck has full Isinglass enclosure and wing doors for all weather use, with a varnished table at a built in bench seat. Plenty of storage areas with a wet bar, icemaker, refrigerator and freezer make this area great for entertaining. Leading down from the aft deck is the cockpit, giving this yacht great access to the swim platform and making line handling at the dock so much easier. Spare propellers are stored in the lazarette.

The full beam master has a walk-around centerline berth for easy getting in or out of bed from both sides, and making up this style bed is a snap. The mattress is a custom made inner spring. Lots of storage spaces are found throughout the cabin, including extra large hanging lockers and storage under the berth and both sides. Like the salon, the original teak finish has not been covered over with wall paper or paint. The private ensuite head is ample size with shower and bathtub.

Access to the guest cabins and engine room are from stairs in the pilothouse. The mid guest cabin has been designed for the most versatility, with two single berths plus two Pullman berths and ensuite head with shower.

The forward stateroom with private head and stall shower has a vee berth arrangement.

The pilothouse, with a varnished teak sole, has excellent visibility for running this long distance cruiser from inside. The bench seat has room for the skipper and friends. Stairs lead up to the flybridge. Equipment includes:

The flybridge has a large helm chair with a folding radar mast behind it. Two large bench seats with storage face each other and to the aft is the inflatable dingy with davit. The dinghy is a 1996 Aquascan rigid bottom inflatable with a 1999 40HP Yamaha

Leading down from the pilothouse are stairs to the guest cabins and the walk in engine room. At the entrance to the engine room is a room sometimes used for crew, but this is set up with a workbench with vise and multiple storage areas for tools and spare. The engine room itself is full standup with access to all sides of the mains engines. Two generators are in sound shields. Access to systems such as the stabilizers, house and engine batteries is excellent. Hatteras has always been well known for well engineered systems with great access in the motoryachts and the Long Range Cruisers. One of the naturally aspirated 6-71 Detroit diesels has about 300 hours since a rebuild, the other has 5000 hours.
